Full-Front vs. Full-Body PPF: How Much Coverage Do You Actually Need?
Short answer: full-front PPF covers the panels that take 80% of the damage for a fraction of the cost of full body. Full body is for cars you plan to keep for years, exotics, and owners who want zero paint anxiety.

The short answer
Start with full front. The bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors take almost all of the rock chips on Orange County freeways. Go full body if the car is exotic, if you are keeping it more than five years, if it is a lease with a strict return inspection, or if you simply never want to think about door dings, shopping carts and key scratches.
What PPF is
Paint protection film is a clear, thick urethane layer applied over the paint. It absorbs impacts from rocks and debris, self-heals light swirls with heat from the sun, and peels off years later leaving factory paint underneath. It is not a wax or a coating; it is a physical barrier.
Full-front coverage in detail
Full front at Iconic means the entire bumper, the entire hood (not an 18-inch strip), the full front fenders, the mirror caps and the headlights. Partial-hood packages leave a visible line and are cheaper for a reason. On trucks and SUVs, adding the rocker panels behind the front wheels is the single best add-on because tires throw gravel straight at them.
Full-body coverage in detail
Every painted panel, plus edges wrapped where the panel allows so there is no visible film line. On a Tesla this includes the door cups behind the handles and the rear bumper top edge where cargo drags. Full body is a four-to-five-day job because every panel is prepped, measured and trimmed individually.
The middle option
Full front plus high-impact zones: rocker panels, door edges, door cups, the A-pillars and the rear bumper top edge. It costs less than full body and covers the places people actually get damage on daily drivers. Ask for it by name.
Clear, satin or matte
Clear PPF is invisible on gloss paint. Satin and matte PPF give a stealth look without a wrap and protect at the same time. You choose the finish, not the coverage; any package can be done in any finish.
Iconic's guarantee and care
Every PPF installation at Iconic carries a 10-year installation guarantee: if the film lifts, peels or bubbles under normal conditions, we replace that section. Care is simple: hand wash, no pressure washer on the film edges for the first week, and avoid automated brush car washes.

Common questions
Is full-front PPF enough?
For most daily drivers in Orange County, yes. The front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors take almost all rock-chip damage. Add rocker panels on trucks and SUVs.
How long does PPF take to install?
Full front is a one-to-two-day drop-off at Iconic. Full body takes four to five days because every panel is prepped and trimmed individually.
Can PPF be removed?
Yes. Quality film removes cleanly years later and leaves the factory paint underneath, which is why it holds resale value.
Does PPF change the look of the paint?
Clear PPF is invisible on gloss paint. Satin or matte PPF changes the finish on purpose while still protecting.
